OPERATIONS

A vertically integrated model, by design.

SPG controls every stage of the gold supply chain. From mine agreements at source to secured shipment into Dubai’s refinery network, every step is managed internally with no dependence on third-party intermediaries.

MINE TO MARKET

Six stages. Fully managed.

Every stage is operated, documented, and controlled by SPG teams. No intermediary layers.

01
Source

Multi-country mine site agreements and MoUs across Tanzania, Guinea, Ghana, and South America. Own mines allocation in Tanzania. Direct relationships with artisanal and small-scale mining communities.

SPG Controls
  • Site agreements
  • Miner relationships
  • Source documentation
  • Local licensing compliance
02
Extract

Surface open-pit extraction from gold-bearing ore concessions. Underground operations accessing deeper hard rock deposits. Alluvial mining on waterway concessions with partner miners.

SPG Controls
  • Collection infrastructure
  • On-ground teams
  • Machinery
  • Extraction methodology
03
Process

Own smelting operations convert raw ore, dust, and nuggets into dore bars. Own dore bar preparation with SPG-operated machinery. The jewellery processing unit in Tanzania provides additional value-add conversion.

SPG Controls
  • Smelting
  • Dore bar preparation
  • Quality measurement
  • Pre-assay documentation
04
Transport

Secured shipment with full government-process documentation at every border. All export paperwork, permits, and chain-of-custody records maintained throughout transit.

SPG Controls
  • Documentation
  • Secure logistics

WHY VERTICAL INTEGRATION

Four operational advantages that compound.

Independent supply control

We own the relationships at origin. Source poaching is the single biggest risk in African gold trade. Our on-ground presence and long-term miner agreements neutralise it.

Uninterrupted production planning

No dependence on spot-market supply. Mine allocations and MoUs deliver consistent volume for forward planning.

Improved cost efficiency

Eliminating intermediary layers compresses the cost stack between mine gate and buyer, improving value at every stage of the chain.

Defensible moat

Success in this market depends on trust, process, access, and protection of source. SPG has spent years building each of these. They are not easily replicated.

SPG ASSETS

Tangible and financial.

Tangible

  • Mine MoUs across Africa and South America
  • Own jewellery processing unit, Tanzania
  • Own offices and operational infrastructure at all bases
  • Own mines allocation, Tanzania

Financial

  • Own hedging account with MultiBank Group. Zero price risk on open positions.
  • Active trading membership, DGCX Dubai via Phillip Futures. Exchange-level price discovery.

MINING OPERATIONS

Extraction methods across concessions.

Surface Mining

Open-pit operations extracting gold-bearing ore from concessions across West and East Africa.

Underground Mining

Advanced tunnel operations accessing deeper gold deposits in hard rock formations.

Alluvial Mining

Waterway-based alluvial gold recovery across small-scale concession partner sites.

Processing

Smelting of dust, nuggets, and crushed ore into dore bars at SPG-operated facilities. Dore bars shipped to UAE refineries for bullion bar production and assay.

Jewellery Unit, Tanzania

SPG operates its own jewellery processing unit in Tanzania, providing additional value conversion on gold recovered from Tanzanian mining operations.

AFRICAN MARKET CONTEXT

Ghana.Africa’s leading gold producer. The sector accounts for approximately 57% of export revenue and 7 to 8% of GDP. Production reached 4.8 million ounces in 2024 with projected growth to 5.1 million ounces in 2025. The UAE receives approximately 40% of Ghana’s gold exports ($4.9B), positioning Dubai as the natural trade hub for West African gold, the corridor SPG is built to serve.

Tanzania.Among East Africa’s leading gold producers, with significant alluvial and hard rock reserves. SPG holds mine allocations in Tanzania and operates a jewellery processing unit in-country.

Guinea. One of the continent’s highest-grade underexplored gold belts, particularly in the eastern region. SPG holds sourcing agreements in Guinea.
